Watershed GIS | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Client:City of Akron Location: Akron, Ohio Environmental Design Group, Inc. has been involved with establishing a GIS for the City's 18,000 acre watershed properties. Beginning with establishing a network of geodetic control monuments and utilizing orthophotographs for base mapping, Environmental Design Group, Inc. has used ARCCADD to prepare a working GIS comprised of several coverages such as parcels, roads, watershed areas, drainage basins, land use, legal data and other miscellaneous information. Using ARCVIEW for exhibit plotting, Environmental Design Group, Inc. has prepared many maps and charts for land management purposes. Many of the coverages were obtained through various state organizations and imported to the GIS with great success, realizing a tremendous cost savings to the City. |
