Client:
PPG Industries
Location:
Barberton, Ohio
Environmental Design Group has provided PPG Industries as-needed surveying services since 1984.
PPG Monitor Well Location Program
This program consisted of locating groundwater monitoring wells and appurtenances within a five-square-mile area.
The project began with establishing a control network of 50 monuments tied to the
Ohio State Plane Coordinate System and NGS elevations.
From the monuments, over 500 wells have been surveyed for location and elevation.
In addition, many wells that are near property lines required establishing the property line to verify clearances
and to obtain easements.
This is an on-going project.
PPG Limestone Mine Survey
Environmental Design Group prepared a boundary survey of 2,000 acres of property holdings.
Legal research, field reconnaissance and monumentation were performed. This project covered an area of three square miles.
Detailed maps and legal descriptions were prepared for property transfer.
Columbia Center Subdivision
Environmental Design Group provided boundary and platting services for the dedication of 16th Street,
SW and the creation of nine lots for transfer of existing buildings and redevelopment of the
former PPG office complex. Environmental Design Group worked with the City of Barberton and PPG to
create utility easements and eliminate underground tunnels in the future roadway area.
